Traditional and Christian songs in the Ottawa and Chippewa languages, recorded with numerous singers in multiple communities in Michigan in the mid-1950s. Recorded as part of Gertrude Kurath's broader study of contemporary religion and music among Anishinaabe communities in Michigan. Includes traditional songs, Catholic and Methodists hymns, and Free Methodist revival meetings, including some benedictions. Also includes one talk entitled, "Longfellow's Use of Michigan Indian Tales."
